The dialogue provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, express their views and make recommendations on ways to ensure credible, peaceful and violence-free elections.
Discussions at the event focused on the role of youths and civil society organisations in preventing electoral violence, discouraging political thuggery and promoting peaceful coexistence among members of the public.
Participants also highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between security agencies, community leaders, youth organisations and other stakeholders to identify potential threats and address issues that could undermine peaceful electoral processes.
The event further emphasised that ensuring peaceful elections is not the responsibility of security agencies alone but a collective responsibility requiring the active participation of all citizens and relevant stakeholders.
